How to change your Office 2007 confirmation code in order to receive a telephone call. For those who don't know, we all have a confirmation code we use when we want to receive a telephone call from someone using Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007. These codes are pretty simple and easy: they're like 10 numbers long and you can choose any number you want (even 0000). It could also be something like the first three letters of your last name; it's up to you. You can put your confirmation code anywhere on your computer or switch around between different ones without it affecting what the other person types into their Outlook, Skype, Messenger, etc. It's also worth noting that the confirmation code you choose is not something you can just share with just anyone. You can only use it on your computer, so you won't be able to use the same code on another person's computer. The reason for this is because, whether you like it or not (and hopefully most people do) most people are using both their personal data and work data on the same computer; therefore, they need to make sure that they are using unique codes for each user. You will need to know this information if someone else tries to call you and wants to use the same code as mine (which they know nothing about) but yet is able to get through because mine won't work for them. I don't know whether your confirmation code is the same as mine, but it's like a password and you can't share your password with everyone (but it's not like telling them your confirmation code). So to change your telephone confirmation code, you will need to log into Office Communications Server 2007. You can do this by going to OCS 2007 Phone Conferencing Configuration. You should see a screen that looks almost exactly like the image I have attached.Navigate to User Information > Confirmation Code tab > Change link in order to get a new number. Then just enter whatever you want in the Confirmation Code field and click on Submit. Now you will get a confirmation message. Just click on OK and your confirmation code will be changed; therefore, if someone calls you using this new code they won't be able to. Good luck! Please note that you will need to use your new confirmation code in order for it to work. So if someone was already calling you at the same time you changed your number (and they happened to use the same one, but it didn't go through because of that), then they would have to change their number in order for them to receive the call on their new number. Who knows how many of these people are out there... Also, I'm not sure if you can change your confirmation code without having to log into the system. If you don't need to log in then you should be able to go directly to OCS 2007 Phone Conferencing Configuration > User Information by clicking on the link in Step 1. Lastly, it's worth mentioning that if someone has already called you under a certain number and they have it stored somewhere, then when they call you with this same confirmation code again it'll work because their original call was already recorded from the first time they used it. So just be aware of that if someone calls you randomly using a number you don't recognize immediately. eccc085e13
